How to use PlayIt4Me Live for iOS
PlayIt4Me Live Version 1.0 for iPhone and iPad manages the current live show’s requests: sign in, approve or deny, choose Next, mark played, pause or resume requests, and log out.
Prepare your profile, songs, venues and shows in a browser. Use the website for account creation or recovery, subscription enrollment, request settings, payments and audience-display setup. Read the web guide for those tools.
1. Sign in and choose your artist
- Open PlayIt4Me Live, enter your website email or username and password, then tap Sign in.
- If asked to choose an artist, select the act for this sign-in. Members use their own invited accounts and share the act’s subscription.
- If the app reports incomplete setup or subscription access, finish it on the website, then refresh the app.
The app needs an internet connection. Your saved sign-in credential is protected in Apple Keychain; your password is not saved by the app.
2. View the current live show
- Start your show on the website before opening the live request list.
- Check the artist name and current show. The main list separates Up Next from Approved requests and shows reported tip amounts.
- Tap Pending and its count at the top to open the waiting requests. Use A to approve, D to deny, or N to approve and select Up Next in one tap. Tap Done to return to the main list.
- If the app says there is no active show, start the intended show on the website and refresh.
Pending counts include every waiting request. Valid requests can be approved and selected Next without waiting for payment. Reported tip amounts come from the original requests; they are not verified transfers. PayPal and other personal payment links open separately, and PlayIt4Me does not confirm that a transfer happened. Check the original payment account when needed. Played is available after a request is approved or selected. Owners and managers can use the controls; a member with view-only access can read the list. If no active requests remain, the app says No requests yet.
3. Use D / A / N / P
- D — Deny: use the red D and confirm that you cannot play the request. It leaves the active list.
- A — Approve: use the green A to add a playable waiting request to the approved queue.
- N — Next Up: use the purple N on a song row to select a playable request as Up Next. A waiting request is approved and selected in one action.
- P — Played: use the blue P after performing an approved or selected song, then confirm Played. It leaves the active list.
The compact letters keep song details visible. Their accessibility labels use the full action names. Unavailable actions stay disabled; current request state and member permissions still apply. If N is disabled with a website-update message, refresh the request list. If the message remains, reach out to help@playit4.me or contact support. N remains visible while those controls are unavailable. Approving a request does not by itself interrupt the current song.
4. Choose Next and return to interrupted songs
- Tap N on the song you want next. Its status changes to Up Next.
- If another song was already selected, it is saved for later. Tap P after finishing the new song to return to the most recently interrupted playable song.
- If you interrupt A with B, then B with C, finishing C returns to B, then A. This return order works even with Auto-next Off and survives refreshing or signing in again.
Played or denied songs are skipped. Marking an interrupted song Played from its row removes it from the saved return order without replacing the currently selected song. When no interrupted songs remain, Auto-next On may select the next approved playable request in the show’s queue order; Auto-next Off leaves the slot empty. New requests or tips do not replace the current selection. Configure Auto-approve and Auto-next on the website.
5. Pause and resume requests
Owners and managers can tap Pause in the controls pinned at the top of the request list, then Resume when ready. The control reflects the server’s current show state.
Pause stops new audience requests. Existing requests stay visible and can still be approved, selected Next or marked Played. Reported amounts and saved-song return order remain available while paused. Resume does not extend the saved show end or bypass its request cutoff. Edit those times on the website when needed.
6. Refresh and check your connection
Pull down on the request list or tap Refresh requests to retrieve current information. The app also refreshes while active and pauses refresh work in the background. Check the Updated time and any connection or setup message before acting.
If the connection fails, restore it and refresh. If another operator changes the show or request, refresh before trying again. Use the confirmed result shown by the app rather than repeatedly acting on an old list.
If the service is temporarily unavailable, try again later. If you need a hand with the companion, reach out to help@playit4.me or open support. Show-end emails and their saved copies remain available through the website’s Email history.
7. Log out
Tap Logout to end the saved sign-in. If sign-out cannot be confirmed, restore the connection and choose Retry Logout. Request and show controls stay disabled while logout is pending.
To use a different artist, log out and sign in again, then choose that artist when prompted. Read these guides in your browser; the companion stays focused on the live show and request list.
