How to use the web app

Use PlayIt4Me in your phone, tablet or computer browser. Choose a topic below; settings and show changes are saved to the same account used by PlayIt4Me Live for iOS.

Using PlayIt4Me Live for iOS?

1. Create an account or sign in
  1. Choose Create an account, enter your details and choose monthly or annual billing.
  2. Complete Stripe Checkout with a payment method. Stripe manages the one-time 30-day trial and automatic renewals. If enrollment is unfinished, complete it on the website when prompted.
  3. Sign in with your website account. If you belong to more than one act, choose the act you want to manage.

If you see Membership pending, your account is saved. Sign in again to continue your membership; use the same account rather than creating another one.

Members use their own invited accounts and share the act’s subscription. Owners manage subscription enrollment and membership. Use Recover your account if sign-in details are not accepted.

2. Set up your artist page and images
  1. Open Appearance to save your artist name, tagline, profile sections and their order.
  2. Upload a logo, hero or background image. Use the crop, zoom and centering controls, then save. Gallery uploads support selecting several images and optimize new images for the website.
  3. Choose your theme, or select CUSTOM and save your colors and font.
  4. Preview the public artist page. Publish the profile when it is ready.

Save and Cancel controls appear near the end of each editor section. Save page changes saves all sections of the artist page together. Confirm publishing, artist-name or image changes in the final section before saving.

Add public members and social links as needed. Visitors using the artist QR see your public audience page. During a live show, the request and tip areas move above other profile content.

3. Build a reusable song list
  1. Open Songs to add or edit a title, artist and suggested tip. You can also import a song CSV after reviewing its preview.
  2. For each show, open Show songs to choose available songs and any show-specific suggested tips.
  3. In the show settings, choose requests from the song list only, or also allow write-in songs. The same request minimum applies to listed and write-in songs. Set it to $0.00 to allow no-tip requests without a payment method and any positive reported amount.

Write-in requests stay separate from your reusable catalog. A positive minimum applies equally to listed and write-in requests. There is no separate write-in minimum. Amounts such as 5, 5. or 5.0 save as $5.00.

Request defaults and show overrides
  1. Open Account → Request defaults. Owners and managers choose the act’s Auto-approve and Auto-next defaults.
  2. Auto-approve On approves valid waiting requests, including current requests when enabled. Approval does not wait for payment verification.
  3. Auto-next On fills an empty Up Next slot from approved requests using the show’s queue order. New requests or tips do not replace a selected song. Marking the selected song Played first restores an interrupted song, if one is saved, then frees the slot for the next eligible approved request.
  4. In a show’s Requests and tips section, choose Use account default, On for this show or Off for this show for each setting.
  5. Confirm changes and save. Cancelling a change prompt restores the previous choice. Without JavaScript, use the confirmation checkbox before saving a change.

New shows start by inheriting both defaults. Later account-default changes apply to shows still inheriting that setting, including live shows; explicit show overrides remain unchanged. Turning Off preserves requests already approved and the current Up Next selection. The single request minimum stays in each show’s settings and applies equally to listed and write-in songs. A zero minimum permits no-tip requests without a payment method.

4. Create or modify a show
  1. Open Shows to see your existing shows. Choose Add new show to open the form and enter a show title, venue name, start, end and timezone. The venue name is required; its logo, address, city, state, ZIP, phone and website are optional. Save a venue to reuse it and choose which details appear in listings.
  2. Set the request cutoff, single request minimum, queue ordering and other show rules. A $0.00 minimum permits no-tip requests; a positive minimum applies to every listed or write-in request. Review the Auto-approve and Auto-next account defaults or choose show overrides. Use the Save and Cancel controls at the end of any section; Save saves the whole show form. Save, then choose the show songs.
  3. Choose Start show when you are ready. Starting another show closes the previous live show and saves its summary email; read the confirmation before continuing.
  4. Choose Modify show from Shows or the live queue to change a scheduled or live show. Update its times, venue, timezone, cutoff or request rules, then save.

If you start early, adjust the saved start time and start the show. For overtime, extend the end time before the show automatically closes. The end must be after the start, and the cutoff must fit within the show. Saving changes immediately adjusts new-request availability.

Existing requests, confirmed payments, saved receipt terms and locked Up Next are preserved. Ended or cancelled shows cannot be reopened by editing. Owners and managers can modify shows; other members follow their assigned permissions.

5. Manage requests during the show
  1. Open Live show and select the current show. Each song shows Pending approval, Approved or Up Next. Choose Accept on a pending request; after approval its Accept button disappears.
  2. Choose Next Up for a playable request. A waiting request is approved and selected together. The selected song shows Up Next and no longer offers Next Up. With Auto-approve or Auto-next On, approval or selection may already be done. Mark an approved or selected song Played after performing it, including directly from its row in the list.
  3. Use Pause requests if you need a break, and resume when ready. Pause and the request cutoff stop new submissions; existing requests can still be approved and played, and automation can advance them.
  4. If you cannot play a request, decline it.
  5. End the show. A summary email is sent automatically to the registered owner email for the act. It lists requested, played, declined and unplayed songs, reported tip amounts and each patron’s request amount by song. Open the show’s Email history link to see the saved email again.

Up Next stays selected when new requests or tips arrive. Selecting another song saves the interrupted selection. After the new song is Played, the most recently interrupted playable song returns first, even with Auto-next Off. For example, interrupt A with B, then B with C: finishing C returns to B, then A. Played or denied songs are skipped. Once the saved interruptions are finished, Auto-next selects another approved request only if it is On. If there are no active requests, the musician display says No requests yet. Tip-priority ordering uses the reported request amounts. These amounts are not proof of payment. Requests for the same active song are pooled while keeping each patron’s original request amount and any historical payment records.

6. Set up tips and check payment receipts
  1. Open Payments and save your personal payment links or instructions. PayPal uses your direct PayPal.Me link.
  2. Patrons enter a reported tip amount with a song request and follow the chosen payment link separately. Zelle shows your saved payment instructions.
  3. Check the original payment account when you need to confirm an actual transfer. PlayIt4Me does not verify these direct payments or choose a PayPal transaction type.
  4. Use the show’s Email history to reopen its saved report. Existing confirmed receipts, returns and disputes retain their original history.

Request amounts are reported tips, not confirmed receipts. A payment-link click does not prove a transfer. Requests can be approved, selected Next and played without a payment gate. Tip-priority ordering and current request totals use the original reported amounts.

7. Set up the audience display
  1. Open Audience display. Save your artist logo in Appearance first.
  2. Choose LOGO — Artist logo only to show only your musician logo. Ads and other gallery images never play in this mode.
  3. Choose AD/Special — Images and ads to select images, set their order and choose Seconds per slide.
  4. To alternate your logo and ads, check Display artist between ads. The logo plays first for 1.5 times the slide duration, then each selected image for the normal duration, with your logo between images. At 10 seconds per slide: logo 15 seconds, image 1 10 seconds, logo 15 seconds, image 2 10 seconds, then repeat.
  5. Publish the display and open the separate audience window. Use your artist QR for download, printing or the display.

Select at least one image for AD/Special. If no saved logo is available, logo-only artwork stays blank and AD/Special skips the missing logo slots. Upload and save the intended musician logo rather than relying on a fallback image.

Images fit and center in the receiving window without stretching or clipping. On a computer, connect HDMI or AirPlay as an extended desktop, move the audience window to that screen and use Fullscreen. Where supported, choose the connected display directly. A webpage cannot turn screen mirroring into an independent display; iPhone and iPad browsers cannot independently cast this live page. A TV browser can instead open the public audience URL directly.

Display controls hide after 10 seconds; touch, tap or scroll to show them temporarily. The page requests a screen wake lock where supported while it is visible; your browser or operating system may still suspend it. Check the connected screen and sleep settings before the show.

The small request line pulses OPEN, changes to Closing soon during the last 10 minutes, and disappears at the cutoff. It also hides if current show status cannot be retrieved. The display adjusts to the receiving window and device rotation.

8. Manage your account safely

Use Account → Subscription and billing to manage renewal through Stripe. Subscription expiry does not remove access needed for recovery, receipt history or exports. Use Your acts and Member accounts to choose an act, invite trusted musicians and review their permissions.

To leave permanently, use Delete account in account settings. Transfer ownership or close your sole-member act first, and resolve shows, provider-confirmed subscription cancellation and unsettled payments. The deletion page explains anything that still needs attention.

If the service is temporarily unavailable, try again later. For assistance with your account or any feature, reach out to help@playit4.me or open support.
